Early on June 11, a man was hospitalized in Fort Wayne, Indiana after striking a curb in a roundabout and losing control of his vehicle. His vehicle was reportedly airborne at two different points during the incident. He was said to have been in life-threatening condition.
Police received calls regarding a crash and responded to the roundabout located at Adams Center Road and Wayne Trace at approximately 7:30 a.m local time (1130 UTC). Police found the man’s vehicle hundreds of feet from the road.
The man was reportedly driving at high speeds, swerving and passing other vehicles, according to police. The vehicle first went airborne after striking the curb of the roundabout, then Hit a barricade marked ‘road closed’ and became airborne again before eventually coming to rest in a field.
The man was hospitalized in life threatening condition at Lutheran Hospital.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
